Mitchell, Governor of Georgia (1809-1813, 1815-1817). The author of the letter informs the governor that he has suspended all actions against St. Augustine until he receives further orders, and he has received information from the residents of Amelia Island (Nassau County, Florida) regarding Spanish threats from the sea. The colonel indicates that the Indians have not caused any trouble lately in the area and attributes this to their recent defeat at the hands of Colonel Newnan. Also mentioned are General Flournoy and Governor of East Florida, Sebastian Kindelan y Oregon.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc402</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 46, folder 12, document 02.</dc:source><dc:subject>Indians of North America</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1812 Nov. 7, Point Petre [i.e., Peter, Georgia to] David B.
