Harris explains that a Mr. Montgomry (Montgomery?) who lives along the boundary line between the Cherokee Indians and the state of Georgia has taken an interest in the opening of a road to (South ?) West Point and Tellico, Tennessee. The Cherokees are reportedly anxious that the road be opened and Colonel James Vann, a wealthy Cherokee leader, also indicates a desire to see Wafford's Settlement removed from across the boundary line.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc385</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 45, folder 05, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Boundaries</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1804 Jan. 13, Jackson County, [Georgia to] Governor [of Georgia] John Millidge [i.e., Milledge], Louisville, [Georgia] / Gen[era]l Buckner Harris</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
