Fauche has directed the discharge or transfer of certain troops as ordered by Irwin and provides information regarding said troops. He also reports on the attitude of inhabitants in the Western frontiers of Georgia towards the recent failed treaty with the Creek Indians. He reflects that no blame is placed on the treaty commissioners, however, and predicts that no unauthorized settlements will take place in the land not ceded by the Creeks.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc367</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 43, folder 06, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Land tenure</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter with military report] 1796 Aug. 5, Greenesborough [i.e., Greensboro, Georgia to] Governor [of Georgia] Jared Irwin, Louisville, [Georgia] / Adjutant General Jonas Fauche</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
