Page: [1] Fort Fidius May 31st 1794 Sir It is with the greatest Satisfaction I congratulate your Excellency on the determination of the Creek Nation of Indians, to preserve the peace concluded with Major Seagrove in behalf of the United States -- The letters which you will receive by express will prove to you the truth of these facts When Major Adams made an attack on the Indians who came to this post under the Sanction of a flag, his party in plundering the Indian Camp, carried [added text: off ] property of the United States, which Mr. Seagrove requested I would lend the Indians -- I have therefore to request of your Excellency to direct the restitution of it or to have the value reimbursed to me as Commanding officer at this Post.
