The officer congratulates Mathews on a recent peace agreement with the Creek Nation and reports that goods belonging to the United States were stolen by Major Adams and his troops while attacking Indians encamped under his protection at the fort. The author's signature is unclear, but a note on the back of the letter indicates that his name is Captain Brook Roberts. Major James Seagrove, U.S. Indian Agent is mentioned.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc363</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 43, folder 02, document 04.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian agents</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1794 May 31, Fort Fidius, [Georgia to] Georgia Governor [George] Mathews, Augusta / R.
