Randolph to Georgia Governor George Mathews (1787-1788, 1793-1796) in Augusta, informing the governor of the situation on the frontier. Randolph says that the Creeks speak of peace, but he believes that they are still hostile. He claims that the Creeks recently killed and scalped one person and shot a guard through the arm. Randolph reports that the Spaniards have used the Indians to protect an area of the St. Mary's River. He also tells of the lack of provisions.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc360</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 43, folder 02, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Claims against</dc:subject><dc:title>Letter, 1794 Apr. 1, Colerain Station on the River St. Marys [to Georgia Governor] George Mathews, Augusta / John F.
