There are three enclosures.  First, a letter from Jackson to Mr. Lane dated March 28, 1788 requesting that Mr. Lane forgo standard procedure in supplying rations due to the desperate situation on the frontier.  Also enclosed is an extract of a letter from Captain William McIntosh to Colonel J.
