O'Neill thanks Brownson for a recent communication, delivered by Chief Uyagke, and expresses his gratitude for information on a recent battle, as well as a copy of a treaty between the Americans and the Creek Indians. O'Neill also indicates his suspicions regarding attempts of British traders in the area to gain favor with the Indians by securing presents for them. General Nathanael Greene and the revolutionary battle of Eutaw (Springs) are also mentioned. The letter is written in Spanish and a translation has been provided below.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc266</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 38F, folder Brownson 4, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter in Spanish] 1781 Nov. 18, Pensacola, [Florida, to Governor of Georgia] Nath[a]n Brownson / Arturo O'Neill</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
