Spaniards are aggressively disturbing relations between the Americans and these nations by emphasizing the American desire for Indian land. In addition, Davenport reports that if the Americans do not provide the Indians with supplies in a timely manner, they may lose their friendship altogether as both nations are still very much inclined towards the British. Davenport gives considerable detail relative to the general situation in the Natchez region, mentions Governor of Spanish Louisiana, Esteban Rodriguez Miro, and Alexander McGillivray and the Creek Indians, as well.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc211</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 78, folder 12, document 10.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Chickasaw Indians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Choctaw Indians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indians of North America--Land tenure</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indians of North America--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1786 Nov. 1, Cumberland [to the] Governor [of] Georgia / William Davenport</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
