The talk indicates the willingness of the Upper Creeks to continue peaceful relations with the Americans and with the state of Georgia. In addition, the talk reveals their determination to resist the interference of "straggling" whites and their desire to receive goods. Talks are expected, however, from the Spaniards and one was recently received from the Cherokees. Creek leader Alexander McGillivray is mentioned, as well.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc207</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 78, folder 12, document 06.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:title>A talk from the kings, beloved men and warriors of part of the Upper Towns [of the Creek Nation], the Tallese[e] King [acting as] speaker, 1786 June 25</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
