To his excellency George M. Troup 
My Friend sir I take the liberty of sending [unclear text: Sl. [Samuel]  ]  Hawkins to you by we [unclear text: seeing ]  in the newspaper your proclamation [deleted text: of ]  stating that the treaty was ratifyed [ratified]  by the president & and senate we see in the papers of where Crowel had wrote to the Department that the Cheifs [Chiefs]  of the lower grade that had signed the treaty & we see where he says that there will be hostility with us if the [unclear text: us. ]  states [document damaged] the treaty we have not [unclear text: aney [any]  ]  ways into [document damaged]  [illegible text]  in danger until he comes home & Comence  [commence]  hostility & urge it himself on us if the treaty is ratifyed [ratified]  if you can let [unclear text: Sl. [Samuel]  ]  Hawkins have two thousand Dollars or stand his security in the Bank to that [added text: amount ]  we will send me on now to look at the [unclear text: Country ]  for to trye [try]  to move away this fall the money [illegible text]  if lone [loan]  to us will be payd [paid]  back as soon as the money comes on to pay the first payment of the treatys aney [treaties any]  information that you Can give him will be satisfacktorey [satisfactory]  to us your Dear friend &
