In the extract, Fauche states that shots were fired from Fort Clark at several Indians who were then trailed over the Oconee River, (Georgia). The trails of approximately ten Indians were later identified and the discovery prevents Fauche from leaving the frontier to attend a prearranged meeting.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc027</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 77, folder 33, document 20.</dc:source><dc:subject>Indians of North America--Georgia</dc:subject><dc:title>[Extract of a letter] 1793 July 20, [to] Governor [of Georgia] Edward Telfair / [written by] Captain Jonas Fauche ; [forwarded by] A[ugustus] C[hristian] Geo[rge] Elholm, Adj[utan]t Gen[era]l</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
