The talk was signed by John Galphin, a mixed blood Creek, but it is unclear in what capacity he was involved. The Creeks indicate their disposition with regard to the Americans, whom they refer to as "Virginia" people, and refer to recent disturbances caused by another Creek leader, Alexander McGillivray. The signature of James Durouzeux, an interpreter, also appears on the talk, dated August 11, 1786.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>tcc026</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Telamon Cuyler, box 77, folder 33, document 19.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:title>Talk from the Lower Towns in the Creek Nation, 1786 Aug. 11</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
