There Was A Discovery Made Where they Encamped Within Half Mile of -- Matterson Station that Same Night -- They Struck Up Camp Just By [illegible text] House On [unclear text: Chorstory ] Where They Collected About Twenty Two Horses But the people Missing there [their] Horses Went Out in ye Night & [unclear text: gave ] them A Surprise & Got Ninteen [Nineteen] of the Horses Back Again Friday Morn.) We pursued them But to No Effect -- Friday Night they past [passed] Over to the Georgia Side & Killed A Hog at Waltons fort & stole Some [unclear text: Seed ] that Was Left there to the Amt. [Amount] of 20/ [unclear text: pd ] at Least & Burnt Up Old Mr Wards House -- Page: [2] & Killed A Beef Saturday Evening -- About Sun Set Genl.
