United States, Georgia, 32.75042, -83.500181797/1780Undated petition of Mary Brown to the Georgia Assembly requesting financial assistance for herself and her children. According to the petition, on April 18, 1797, a party of Indians attacked Brown's family, injuring her, killing her husband, Isaac Brown, and stealing the household goods. Brown's injury and destitute condition as a result of the raid have left her unable to care for her children.
