In the letter, Sheftall indicates that he is transmitting accounts which include a charge for two hundred dollars for the trouble of storing an unknown number of deer skins, ostensibly acquired from trade with the Indians. The account referred to is no longer attached but is probably krc159. Mason's reply to this letter is probably document krc158.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc157</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 25, folder 07, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Five Civilized Tribes--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>Trading posts</dc:subject><dc:subject>Fur trade</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1808 Dec., Savannah, [Georgia to] John Mason, near Washington, [D.C.] / L[evi] S[heftall]</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
