The horses were the property of John Benge, Mathew Brewer and Thomas Cade, Cherokee traders,  and the receipt itemizes the animals and their estimated value.  This receipt was signed by Justices of the Peace Thomas Waters, John Levitt, William Simon, and James Proctor.
