Mitchell's (Governor of Georgia, 1809-1813, 1815-1817) alleged involvement in the illegal trade of African slaves while he was Creek Indian agent. The first article is dated May 26, 1820 in Washington, Georgia, and it expresses the wish that the charges against Mitchell will be proven false.
