McIntosh writes to request assistance in selling Ben and Glascon, two male slaves in the custody of John Simpson and Company of Charleston, South Carolina. He laments their acquaintance with an "Indian doctor" who, he claims, transported them into the (Creek?) Nation. In expressing his desire to see the slaves sold, McIntosh describes both as skilled and valuable.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc121</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 17, folder 80, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians</dc:subject><dc:subject>Enslaved persons</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1775 July, Darien, [Georgia] / Lach[la]n McIntosh</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
