Locke asks for news and tells Tefft that there is little to report except a profusion of troops, ostensibly assembled to fight the Seminole Indians (Second Seminole War,1835-1842). He asks Tefft to send him some newspapers to read, and he says that he will probably remain there for the duration of the Seminole campaign.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc109</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 16, folder 10, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Seminole War, 2nd, 1835-1842</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1836 Feb. 20, Picolata, Fl[orida to] J[ames] K.
