Cuthbert mentions that it is generally agreed in the province that an Indian war is probable, and he further remarks that the Creeks are especially likely to go to war with the settlers. McIntosh commanded Georgia forces in the Revolutionary War and was elected to the Continental Congress in 1784. Cuthbert also fought in the American Revolution, served briefly as president of the Supreme Executive Council in Georgia (1779), and later became state treasurer (1784-1786).</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc073</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 06, folder 36, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Warfare</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1774 Aug. 9 to Lachlan McIntosh, Darien, Georgia / Seth Jno.
