Mitchell, dated March 19, 1822. Calhoun informs Mitchell that the accounts recently submitted for the expense of unnamed articles delivered to the Cusseta chiefs in preparation for the Treaty of Indian Springs (signed January 8, 1821) have been approved and the requested amount will be remitted. Calhoun remarks, however, that the other expenses of influential leader William McIntosh and the Creek deputation were not authorized and will therefore be deducted from the Creek annuity.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc060</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 04, folder 11, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Treaties</dc:subject><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>United States.
