These two pages of the petition declare that Levy purchased the three islands of Ossabaw, Sapelo, and St. Catherine's from Thomas Bosomworth and his wife Mary (a.k.a. Mary Musgrove or Coosaponakeesa), to whom they had reportedly been granted by the Creek Indians. According to the petition, Levy settled on and began improving his newly acquired lands at a considerable expense. A complete version of this petition also appears as krc043.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>krc049</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Keith Read, box 02, folder 76, document 01.</dc:source><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Land tenure</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian land transfers</dc:subject><dc:subject>Bosomworth, Thomas</dc:subject><dc:subject>LeBreton, Thomas</dc:subject><dc:subject>Musgrove, Mary, 1700-1765</dc:subject><dc:subject>Levy, Isaac</dc:subject><dc:title>[Legal] petition of John Whiteside and Thomas Lebreton [on behalf of] Isaac Levy, [to] the King's most Excellent Majesty in Council</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
