Wright says that he was sworn interpreter at a conference held on September 3, 1752 at the Tuckabatchee (also Tuckabatchie or Tuckabatchi) Square in the Upper Creek Nation between Thomas Bosomworth, here referred to as an agent of South Carolina, and several Upper Creek leaders. He states that the Indian leaders claimed they never understood that a paper they had signed at the request of Patrick Graham (President of the Georgia colony, 1752-1754) essentially surrendered lands they herein acknowledge to be the rightful property of Mrs. Mary Bosomworth (a.k.a.
