It is specified that any sick prisoners are to be given all necessary medical attention, that corn or flour shall be provided where hard bread rations are unavailable, and that Indian horses are to be provided with forage. This portion of the orders appears to have been prepared by Lieutenant Colonel W. J. Worth. Also included is a further order, by command of Brigadier General Floyd, requiring the commander at Cedar Town, Georgia, Captain Isaac S. Vincent, to respect the preceding orders.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image of original manuscript, scanned by the University of Georgia Libraries in 2000, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>ivp013</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, Captain Isaac Vincent Papers, box MS617, folder N/A, document 04.</dc:source><dc:subject>Cherokee Indians--Relocation</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian prisoners</dc:subject><dc:title>Orders, 1838 May 20, New Echota, [for the care of Indian prisoners] / by command of Major Gen[eral Winfield] Scott</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
