Sevier discusses the robbery and murder of two men from Tennessee and says that he suspects a member of the Creek Nation is the murderer. He asks the agent to investigate the situation since several parties of Creek Indians passed through the area of the killings around the time that they occurred. Sevier further requests that Hawkins urge the Creek chiefs to put an end to the violence.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Libraries in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>gs061</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher>Manuscript held by the The Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville, TN, Governor Sevier, box 1, folder 4, document tl061.</dc:publisher><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Claims against</dc:subject><dc:subject>Creek Indians--Government relations</dc:subject><dc:subject>Indian agents</dc:subject><dc:title>[Letter] 1807 Dec. 20, Knoxville, [Tennessee to Benjamin Hawkins] / John Sevier of an image</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
