The great anxiety I feel for the safety of my son Ben is the only apology I can offer you for this address - Since his departure from this state to Washington City I have applied to the Indians to restore the property of My Two Sons which was sequestered by them and they have absolutely refused in many Instances to restore it to me who is authorized to collect it for them and they have restrained me from removing such as I had collected together the Indians friendly to us informs me that they are hostile disposed towards my son Ben - and have threatend [threatened]  [deleted text:  [illegible text]  ]  [added text: to treat him ]  ill on his return home -- I hope you will do me the favour [favor]  to communicate
