Twiggs informs the governor of recent alleged attacks by unnamed Indians on the inhabitants of Greene County, Georgia. Twiggs reports that a party pursued the Indians but were forced to halt and that a block house is desired for the protection of this frontier. Further, Twiggs relays information regarding the "gallant" behavior of Captain Stokes who pursued and killed three Indians and confiscated their weapons. He refers to an extract and an affidavit, neither of which are enclosed.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>cmt012</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, C.
