Carrel indicates that he was a member of a volunteer troop stationed at Long Bluff whose horses were allegedly stolen by an unnamed group of Indians. Carrel states that he and others pursued the horses and upon discovering three Indians, fired upon them and received return fire. Carrel suspects that at least one Indian died at the scene and that the other two were mortally wounded. The horses were recovered.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>cmt011</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, C.
