Walton notes that, although a treaty had not yet been signed, United States commissioners had recently received assurances from the chiefs of the Creek Nation, including Alexander McGillivray, that the Indians would not commit any more acts of violence until another attempt at a treaty could be made. Walton expresses his hope for peace but nevertheless cautions Irwin to remain on guard and promises to send him some ammunition. This letter is a response to cmt005, Irwin's letter to Walton informing him of the recent violence.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2001, as part of GALILEO, funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.</dc:description><dc:format>text/html</dc:format><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:identifier>cmt006</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:relation>Mode of access: World Wide Web.</dc:relation><dc:relation>System requirements: AT&amp;T DjVu browser plug-in needed to view images of documents.</dc:relation><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Manuscript held by the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The University of Georgia Libraries, C.
