Vacant lot where the U.S. Post Office was to be constructed. The structure was located at the corner of Hamilton and Crawford Streets and was completed in 1909. The Hotel Dalton is the large building in the center background and the Opera House is just to the right of it. Both structures were destroyed by the fire that swept through the downtown area in April 1911. The queen Opera House never reopened. The hotel was rebuilt in 1923 on the same site.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-CR/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Hotels--Georgia--Dalton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architecture--Georgia--Dalton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Business--Georgia--Dalton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Municipal services--Georgia--Dalton</dc:subject><dc:title>PHOTO NO. 2.</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
