This structure was first the Julida Hotel. It was built by C. D. Shelnutt and Mack Tucker and located at the corner of Brookins and West Haynes Streets. It received its name from the daughters of the builders. Their names were Julia and Ida. Later Doctor William Rawlings purchased the hotel and converted it to a sanitarium. When the need for additional space was felt, he purchased the rest of the Hotel Julida block. He established a school to train nurses circa 1906.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-CR/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Hospitals--Georgia--Sandersville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Hotels--Georgia--Sandersville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Schools--Georgia--Sandersville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architecture--Georgia--Sandersville</dc:subject><dc:subject>Public health--Georgia--Sandersville</dc:subject><dc:title>[Photograph of the Julida Hotel, Sandersville, Washington County, Georgia, ca. 1945]</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
