View of Clayton from the south looking north. Black Rock Mountain is seen in the background. The structure seen in the background housed an independent school system that had been established in 1909 when the city of Clayton was incorporated. It was located on what is now Hiawassee Street. Clayton High School, the first four-year high school in Clayton, was housed here when it was established in 1920. In 1925, when the city system was abolished in favor of a county system, the property was transferred to the county board of education. Rabun County High School was housed here.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-CR/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Schools--Georgia--Clayton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architecture--Georgia--Clayton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Education--Georgia--Clayton</dc:subject><dc:subject>Landscape--Georgia--Clayton</dc:subject><dc:title>"Clayton High School"</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
