Covered Bridge - West Newton. Location: Between highways 81 and 212 on Covered Bridge Road Spaured Sropping Schoals Creek. Dates: Date of construction unknown. Known to be in existence in the early nineteen hundreds. Connecting hicks bean Bethany Road and Highway 212. Destroyed by fire ca. 1965. Just above this bridge was a grist mill. Farmers in surrounding area brought corn to the ground into meal for family use.
