Worker at the Knox Brothers Lumber company located on Railroad Street uses a hydro air engineering press to join two 2" x 12" boards between a metal plate. This was a step in manufacturing the pieces of prefabricated homes. The company, begun in 1932, was one of the first in the area to build prefabricated homes. An assembly line process was used to manufacture the pieces of the home. Later the firm was purchased by National Homes. Lawrence, Robert E., Wyck A., and Peter S.
