Mr. Myers was born in Edgefield County, South Carolina on May 29, 1812 and died Jan. 16, 1897. He was the first sheriff of Hart County serving from 1854-1855. He was the first to serve in the House of Representatives of the Georgia General Assembly from Hart County.
