This structure began as the Perry Baptist Female Seminary. In 1854 the name changed to Houston Female College. In 1896 the building was sold to the public school system where it was utilized as the Perry High School. In 1923 it was moved and became a private residence. During the mid-1960s the structure again became the property of the Perry Baptist Church. It was demolished ca. 1974. The cupola it had during the days it was used as a church and school is missing in this photograph.
