Mark Allison Matthews was born Sept. 24, 1867, and grew up in Calhoun. After receiving the training, he was ordained into the Presbyterian ministry in 1887. He became the pastor of the Calhoun Presbyterian Church. He had several other pastorates including a great many years at the First Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Wash.
