Aftermath of the Terminal District conflagration which started in the Harry L. Schlesinger Cracker Factory at the northeast corner of Nelson Street and Madison Avenue (Spring Street). The flames spread to the south side of Mitchell Street and involved the Terminal Hotel on the northeast corner of Mitchell Street. Forty-two business firms were completely burned out occupying 31 buildings.
