William Perrin Nicolson was an Atlanta physician and dean of the Southern Medical College. He was also one of the founders of the Southern Dental College, president of the Atlanta Academy of Medicine and the Medical Association of Georgia, and American College of Surgeons fellow. The house was designed by architect William T. Downing and built in 1892. It remained in the possession of the Nicholson family until 1982.
