W. A. Brannon delivers 200 bales of cotton to Newnan. This cotton had been sold on contract in August. The W. A. Brannon Company in Moreland was the shipper and had been storing the cotton in its warehouse in Moreland. However, it was cheaper to haul the cotton to Newnan and ship it on the Central of Georgia Railroad than it was to ship on the Atlanta and West Point Railroad from Moreland. Most of the wagons bringing the cotton and signs with slogans referring to the low price the farmers were receiving for their cotton.
