Home built by John James Jones (1824-1898) is located on Jones Avenue. Jones was a lawyer who also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. The home was completed ca. 1876-1878. The home is modeled after the home of his wife's uncle, Robert Toombs, of Washington, Ga. Mr. Jones's daughter, Minnie Toombs Cox, owned it next. In 1950 the home was purchased by Robert C. Neely who restored the inside. Mr. Neely called his home The Shadows. Mr. J.
