Scott-Carter-Furman-Smith house, located about four miles south of Milledgeville. Gen. John Scott of Virginia came to Milledgeville in 1803. He built this frame house out from town in 1806. Col. Farrish Carter bought the house and surrounding plantation about 1813 and added rooms to it. It has been owned by Furmans and Smiths, descendants of Farrish Carter. Said to be oldest house still standing in the county in 1968.
