Archer in Macon, Georgia.  These post-Civil War records are dated June through December, 1865.  Information in these documents includes names of African-American soldiers and clothing and equipment alloted to each.</dc:description><dc:description>Portions of this collection have been digitized and are available online as part of America's Turning Point: Documenting the Civil War Experience in Georgia.</dc:description><dc:description>The Colored Troops Division, an agency of the Adjutant General's office, was organized by War Department General Orders No. 143, dated May 22, 1863.
