A Romanesque arch decorates the center of the pediment at the entrance. When completed in 1899, the Augusta Water Supply was one of the best in the South and one of the cheapest in the United States. The complex is significant because it illustrates the application of three types of power to operate the pumps: water, steam, and electric.
