Lampkin, the two-story rectangular wood frame home with clapboarding had a rear ell and featured a seven-bay two-story-high porch with slender Gothic lyre columns. Combined with the paired Italianate brackets under the cornice and above the windows, the Gothic columns were characteristic of the eclecticism of the mid-nineteenth century. The house was later occupied by Colonel L. H. Charbonnier and William C. Ashe. John D. Mell moved the home to the corner of Milledge Avenue and Rutherford around 1910. The house was later demolished in 1965. For more information, see Linley, John. The Georgia catalog, Historic American Buildings Survey: a guide to the architecture of the state.
