Designed by Harry Carlson of Boston, the building was used for the handicrafts center since 1928 until the admissions offices were moved there in 1997. The Archway that divides the building is the focal point of the Ford Complex. Inside the Archway is a cathedral-shaped dome with grotesque carvings at the base, reminiscent of the gargoyles on the eaves. For more information see Dickey, Ouida W., ed.
