The entrance features sidelights and transom. The sides of the porch are enclosed by a balustrade. The house was bought from J. W. Boyd in 1871 by R. D. Adair, a veteran of the Civil War, who was county treasurer (1886-1908). His daughter Irene Adair was bookkeeper at the Greenville Banking Co. Mrs. J. F. Antley occupied the house in the 1970s.
