A geometrical iron railing crowns the house. Slender square Doric inspired columns support the entablature, which features Italianate brackets supporting the cornice. Full length windows open onto the veranda. A long brick walkway leads to the front of the house from the white picket fence. At the rear, a brick open-arm staircase leads down to the garden. The house originally had a cupola when it was built by city councilman Henry North. T. D. Tinsley purchased the house in 1886 and employed architect Neil Reed for renovations. Dr. Peter and Jeanne Holliday have owned the house since 1984. For more information see McConnell, Jo and Sadie Crumbley. Macon's Treasures Remembered: The Antebellum Years.
