Originally the house was only two stories with a gable slate roof and did not have the cast iron balcony. The entrance features a transom. General MacIntosh, the revolutionary war hero, was the original owner. The first constitutional session of the Georgia Legislature was held here in 1783. George Washington visited in 1791.
